Vacancy description: Software Tester
Within our test department you will learn a lot about our software and automated container transport. You perform systems research and try to figure out how they interact with our software. You’ll deal with questions like: how will the equipment -e.g. automated vehicles or yard cranes- cooperate with our software? Or: how does our software respond to the IT infrastructure at the customer? The result of your work is a team effort; you cooperate with developers, functional experts and project managers to contribute to the quality of our product.
What exactly will I be testing at TBA?
You will test the TEAMS product: software that supports state of the art container terminals worldwide. Building a fully automated terminal takes several years and involves a number of parties working towards the same goal. As a software tester you plan your activities, depending on the phase the project is in. In the beginning you work with terminal operators and equipment suppliers to gather specifications that will enable you to set up test cases. Together with the development team you are responsible for the phased delivery of carefully tested software modules. Before the final delivery, the team visits the terminal and you perform tests on site. You work with the actual equipment to see whether the software works perfectly and how it performs in a number of challenging situations. During and after the ‘go live phase’ the team shares the responsibility of offering customer support in case of any disturbances that might occur.
You are an analytical person and will have to apply a proactive and predictive approach to any problems you may encounter. You feel the responsibility to translate differences in interpretation between development and the best solution for the customer. You consider it a challenge to engage in situations with unclear or incomplete information and emerge from them with the right solutions for our product.
Our ideal candidate for the position of Software Tester / QA Analyst:
- Academic degree.
- 2-3 Years of relevant work experience.
- Technical mind-set.
- Critical, assertive and independent attitude.
- Good knowledge of the English language, German is a plus.
- Knowledge of programming and software testing is a plus.
